Some jewellery settings prohibit comprehensive determination of gem quality and carat weight. To avoid damaging old, and sometimes delicate, items by removing a gemstone, we will give approximate information. In such circumstances, descriptions must be considered an estimate and/or an opinion developed following thorough investigation. Unless otherwise stated, all coloured gemstones and pearls must be assumed to have been subjected to a relatively stable and possibly undetectable colour or clarity enhancement.
All of our white diamonds are natural and untreated. Coloured diamonds must be considered as treated unless a certificate is provided verifying they are natural diamonds.
Dating jewellery is an inexact science. To the best of our ability, using our knowledge and experience of antiques, we can give a close approximation of the date when an item was manufactured. Our method includes studying the materials used, how the item was made, hallmarks, signatures and the overall style.
All descriptions are made in good faith, but the information provided does not form a warranty or guarantee. Although we do our utmost to ensure good and reliable information, any reliance you place on the information provided is strictly at your own risk.
With the best will in the world, we cannot remove sold items from the site immediately. If a second order is placed for a sold item we will notify you as soon as possible and make sure that the second order is cancelled and all is put right.
In no event will we be liable for any loss or damage including (without limitation) indirect or consequential loss or damage. We are also not responsible for any loss or damage which may arise from loss of data - or for loss of profit which may arise directly from, or in connection with, the use of this website.
